Today is a day for the celebration of not being a mother; a day
to celebrate all those close calls, sneaky suspicions, and pregnancy tests,
which never came true, this year. A day to celebrate the regular taking of
birth control pills, the continued use of condoms, the IUD and all methods of
pregnancy prevention that have worked all year long. Today, we celebrate not changing
diapers, not paying childcare, and saving money for somebody else’s college. Today,
we celebrate sleeping, because we are not feeding, worrying and planning for our
children. Today, we celebrate not being ready to be a parent yet and knowing
it! Today, is the first Monday after every Mother’s day!
Happy Non-Mother Day!
