So, I spent most of last night, and a bit of this morning, trying to get a friend out of holding, for a domestic violence charge. They took him to the hospital first, got him bandaged up, and brought him in after midnight, which means he is in for the weekend. He has a broken wrist, arm, shoulder blade, and 3 cracked ribs. His face and body are all black and blue, including several lacerations. She has a single black eye, because he only hit her a single time, which knocked her out. He called the police, and they arrested him.
She came after his car, with a crowbar. When he came out of his home, to confront her, she turned the crowbar on to him. She felt that he was having an affair with the mother of his 16 year old daughter. He has been spending a lot of time at her home, tutoring his daughter for her upcoming SAT's.
This attitude of women being the weaker sex, and therefore must be protected, has got to end. You want equality, well this is equality. If a smaller man, were to attack me, he would be arrested for the assault, and the same standard should be applied to women. If you attack a man, and he defends himself, you should be arrested for the assault. We are equal human beings, and if you attack me, another human, expect me to defend myself.
